Dr. Rebekah H. Gensure, M.D., Ph.D. completed her MD and PhD degrees at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, with an emphasis on medical image analysis, machine learning, and informatics. She completed ophthalmology residency at the John A. Moran Eye Center / University of Utah and vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Casey Eye Institute at the Oregon Health & Science University.

Dr. Rebekah Gensure is a highly skilled and compassionate retina specialist dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients with complex eye conditions. With a focus on personalized treatment and the latest advancements in retinal surgery, Dr. Gensure takes a patient-centered approach to ensure each individual feels informed, supported, and heard throughout their treatment journey. She believes in building strong, collaborative relationships with patients, taking the time to understand their unique needs and concerns. She approaches each case with empathy and precision, offering tailored solutions to help patients maintain or restore their vision while prioritizing their comfort and well-being.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Gensure is involved in education, research, and outreach through her adjunct faculty appointment with the University of Utah Moran Eye Center, continuously exploring new ways to improve outcomes for patients with retinal conditions. Dr. Gensure also values work-life balance. She loves getting outdoors and staying physically active. She regularly participates in CrossFit, core training, kickboxing, and Zumba. Dr. Gensure spends much of her free time on the ski slopes, biking, and hiking. When she is staying indoors, Dr. Gensure is an avid baker and home cook.
